The Three Counter-Tenors

This combination of trios and duets, showing contrasting elements of
humour and pathos, interspersed with exquisite solo love songs, has charmed
audiences throughout Europe. The programme was originally designed for the
Karlsruhe Handel Festival in 1997 and was an immediate success with the 3
'Stars' continuing to delight audiences wherever they are heard.
A wide variety of music is included, from songs by Gagliano, Caccini and
Scarlatti to airs by Robert Johnson from the first performance of
Shakespeare's The Tempest. Hear 'Sir Walter enjoying his damsel one
night' alongside musical descriptions of barking dogs and howling cats, in a
collection of Henry Purcell's more risque catches. Also included are much
loved pieces such as the sublime 'Music for a while'. Truly an evening not
to be missed.

which infinitely delighted. All three singers proved to be masters of their
art. Their excellent sense of style and artful finesse fascinated everyone"
